2016 Challenger Division
Oakville Little League has completed another successful year for the Challenger program. This program has expanded from 45 kids to over 80 in 2015. The season wrapped up on Monday, August 25th with the Championship games being held at Cornwall Park.
The evening started out with the Junior division showing the coaches, parents and fans the skills that they learned over the course of the season. It was a joy to watch these young kids on the diamond having lots of fun. They had thier names announced and music played in between innings which was thrilling for everyone.
The evening wrapped up with the Senior kids playing a game which was exciting and energetic. They also had thier names announced and music played in between innings.
All players received a trophy with their name on it and the traditional hot dog and soft drink.
Congratulations to all of the kids and a special thanks to all of the volunteers who made this season happen for these kids.
Challenger Division Volunteer Coaches Needed
Oakville Little League is an organization designed to build good citizens through the game of baseball. The league relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly.
Our league runs a Challenger division which has grown over the past five years from 40 players to over 150 players. We are looking for adult volunteers and coaches to help us provide a great experience for these kids throughout the summer. You will find this a very rewarding experience working with children who want to learn and grow within the sport. No experience is required to become a volunteer and most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training.
If you are interested in getting involved and making a difference for the young athletes in this division, please send an email to ChallengerSports@jolc.ca
