Oakville Little League is a not-for-profit organization that has an exciting opportunity for someone to provide the youth of Oakville with opportunities to develop citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being through baseball.
Oakville Little League is looking for responsible, committed, reliable and confident individuals for Manager/Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles to start in May 2021 for our All Star/Select program.
We are looking for leaders who will adapt their facilitation and coaching styles depending on their individual players.
We aim to build strong relationships with participants and their parents/guardians, and we strive to have a positive impact on our community. Coaches are the role models for our participants and we expect coaches to lead by example, and to follow our internal guidelines as prescribed by Little League Canada.
This exciting opportunity is for you if you see yourself as a lifelong teacher, coach, and/or mentor and feel you have a calling to positively impact youth and:
- You have a deep understanding of how positive role models can impact lives
- Have a strong baseball acumen
- You see coaching as part of your career development
- You have First Aid training
- You are intuitive, responsive, and have experience adapting programming for different ages and skill levels
We expect a minimum commitment of 1-2 seasons.
TIme commitment will depend on the role you play (assistant or Head coach) but will be during May-August.
Must be willing to facilitate tournaments. Travel will be required at times.
Coaches are expected to arrive 30 minutes before the practices(after all equipment is put back and after debriefing with the team).
All coaches are required to undergo a Vulnerable Person Police Record Check. This is mandatory and non-negotiable.
