Oakville Little League 2022 Season Update

Welcome back for what should be a great summer of Oakville Little League baseball! The start of the season is not far away, and the Board & Executive Committee is busy putting the final plans in place.

Please read the entire message below for important information.

Registration

Registration is winding down. The system is still open, however, there are some divisions that are already full and limited spots in others.

If you have not secured a spot for your child by now, please visit the registration page on our website. Do not be disappointed!

2022 teams and coaches

We are working hard to finalize registrations so that the Division Coordinators can start putting the teams together, including assigning coaches.

If you would like more information on the summer, visit our Season at a Glance page.

Please note that we will be conducting coaches’ meetings the week of April 18. Those who have been identified to coach or be assistants will be notified with the details regarding the dates, times, and locations of the meeting.

Players will be contacted by their coaches within a week of these meetings.

There is no need to contact the league prior to that time to find out what team your child is on or what days of the week they practice and play games.

Player equipment

Oakville Little League supplies all players with a uniform (jersey, pants, socks, and cap). The League also provides bats, balls, and catcher’s equipment.

All players are required to supply their own gloves, a jock or jill (athletic support). Players from Learn To Play (age 4) to Seniors (age 17) are also required to have their own batting helmet.

All equipment needed can be purchased at any major sporting goods store, including Corbett’s Source for Sports, or retail stores, like Canadian Tire and Walmart.

Game Day Convenors needed!

We are looking for Game Day Convenors to help us across all our age divisions. These volunteer positions would be one day per week for about 3 hours from May until late August depending on the division. The Convenors would be assigned (or choose) one park and would attend the game(s).

They would represent the league and check that all equipment in the boxes is in working order, games start on time and umpires are in attendance. They would not be expected to deal with any issues on or off the diamond and communicate any problems to the Division Convenor.

Coaches wanted

The League is always looking for people who enjoy working with kids and teaching them the game of baseball and imparting the life skills of the game. Have you been out of the game for a while and want to return to it? Are you someone who has just finished playing baseball and you want to give back? Experience isn’t necessary and training is provided.

Please fill out the 2002 Season Coach Request Form to let us know you are interested.

Picture Day

Picture Day will take place on Saturday, May 28th inside Glen Abbey Recreation Centre on Third Line. We ask that you park on the East side of the building and use the East entrance. You will be greeted by Oakville Little League volunteers who will make your experience an easy and smooth one.
