I would like to take a moment and thank the players, umpires, parents, grandparents and the volunteers for your continued support of Oakville Little League. I hope that every player has stayed healthy and positive through some very difficult times this year.

COVID-19 brought an unprecedented year of uncertainty and disappointment with respect to youth sports and specifically Oakville Little League Baseball. Early on during the pandemic, the Executives met on a regular basis to discuss the situation as it evolved listening to our local, provincial and federal governments along with public health officials and Little League Canada and International. We made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 season early in April with the hopes that we may be able to salvage some sort of baseball later in the summer. It quickly became apparent that this would not be the case which resulted in the season being cancelled. We took the approach that the safety of our players, coaches, parents, volunteers and spectators was our # 1 priority and because of our approach we had no choice but to cancel 2020. The Executives continued on with our discussions throughout the summer with regards to planning for the 2021 season with the hopes that we can return to play in some form of  normalcy. We will closely monitor the situation as the fall and winter passes by and our commitment will be to keep our membership updated and informed on what to expect for the 2021 season. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy and let’s all do our part to defeat this virus that has kept our youth from doing what they love and that is to stay active in sports.

All the Best,

John Sweeney
