Coaching Staff

Nick Rigato

14U All-Star Manager

Nick has been involved with Oakville Little League since 2001. He has coached at the All-Star level since 2007. His 14U (Junior) team won the 2015 Canadian Junior Little League Championship . His teams were also Junior Provincial Champions in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and National Finalists in 2017. In 2016, Nick’s Intermediate team was Provincial Champions and National Finalists.

Nick was named the 2019 Marthe Dubroy District Volunteer of the Year, which recognizes volunteer efforts at the grass-roots level of Little League Baseball in Canada.

Anthony Rigato

Assistant Coach

Anthony has been a part of the Whitecaps coaching staff since 2013. During that time his teams have won four Ontario Junior League Championships, one Ontario Intermediate League Championship and one Canadian Junior League Championship in 2015, which resulted in a trip to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.

Anthony played several years for the Oakville Whitecaps. He has also played for the Humber Hawks, where he was part of the 2011 National Finalists squad, and the Mississauga Twins. He currently plays for the GHBL Gators.

Jamison Higa

Assistant Coach

Jamison has coached on Nick’s staff since 2016. During that time, their teams have placed 2nd at Nationals in 2016 and 2017, 4th at Nationals in 2019, and 2nd at Provincials in 2018. His main areas of focus are hitting, outfielding, and pitching strategy. He is also working with Ian Harvey on developing better resources for all Oakville Little League coaches through building a centralized source of information regarding the mechanical fundamentals of baseball.

Jamison last played at Queen’s University in the 2015 and 2016 seasons as a corner outfielder and pitcher. He graduated in June 2019 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was a Dean’s Scholar in the 2016 academic year.

Jamison played with the Whitecaps from 2007-2009 before moving on to  the Westerkirk Royals and Etobicoke Ranger programs.

Travis Winteler

Assistant Coach

Travis has been a part of the Whitecaps coaching staff since 2018. His team won the 2019 Ontario Junior League Championships, which qualified them to play in the Junior League Canadian Championship in Lethbridge, Alberta.
